Getting Started With Companies House
As your accountant we'll need to know your Companies House Authentication code to file your accounts and keep your company data up to date. Here's how you find it.
How Do I Find My Companies House Authentication Code?
We will need your Companies House Authentication code to submit accounts to Companies House.
We also need it to keep your company information up to date. This includes your Persons of Significant Control (PSCs), shareholder and director registers.
Companies House Authentication Code Letter
When you form your limited company you will receive a letter containing your authentication code, usually within the first two weeks of incorporation.
How Do I Request A Missing Companies House Authentication Code?
Get it sent to your registered office address
- Login to the Companies House Webfiling service or register an account
- Select Request an authentication code
- Enter your company registration number, which you can lookup here
- Select Request code
Companies House will post the code to your registered office address in around 5 days. You can lookup your registered office address at Companies House.
Get it sent to your home
If you've lost your code and do not have access to your registered office address as a result of the coronavirus, you can request the code to be sent to your home address.
